Wood stork / Mycteria americana

These waterbirds like fluctuating water levels which drain, leaving ponds and puddles full of trapped and struggling fish.   The birds flourish in Amazon rivers and the Pantanal. They make huge nests in trees and mangroves over water, or they try to steal unattended nests if they can!
